This gospel song by Dottie Peoples helped us focus on the HOPE in our house of blues yesterday. We leaned into the opposite of naive, wishful thinking kinds of hope - the concrete hope in Jesus found in the African-American Christian experience.
Its stated this way by Jan Willis: I was part of a community of worshippers, who knew about hardship and knew that it did not last forever. This group knew that misery and joy can stand side by side.
